For use in medical applications, Spectra Medical Grade is an ultra-high strength, ultra-lightweight polyethylene fiber manufactured through a patented gel spinning process – the first of its kind.
Spectra MG exhibits high resistance to chemicals, water, and ultraviolet light, and possesses superior abrasion and internal fiber-friction characteristics. Compared to conventional polyethylene fiber, Spectra MG has a very high molecular weight and degree of orientation, as well as crystallinity.
